Logan Cipala Sweeps Valley Springs National
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 12, 2023) - Round 3 of the American Hillclimb championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, took place at Valley Springs MC in Bay City, Wisconsin, on July 8, 2023. The weather was perfect, and the fans showed up in record numbers making the second “sell out” of the 2023 season!
In the 450 class, it was the local boy and Valley Springs member, Logan Cipala, taking the win on his GAS GAS 450 with a 13.221-second run. Another local to the area, Logan Peterson, came in second with a run of13.690 seconds aboard his Honda 450. time made on Rounding out the top 3 was California native, Joseph Allnutt, making his American Hillclimb East debut riding his KTM 450 with a time of 14.165.
Under the lights and in the Twins class it was Cipala taking the win aboard his Buell 1190 with a fast time of 12.779 seconds. In second place was another local boy, Boded O’Neil, making his 2023 debut on his KTM 990 with a run time of 13.313. Rounding out the top 3 was California native Logan Mead riding his KTM 1290 with a time of 13.896.
The Premier class had a major shakeup in the points chase as previous leader Ryan Rassa had two big crashes and was unable to put down a time. Logan Cipala sealed the win on his gas-powered Buell 1190 with a time of 12.865. In second place, it was Michigan native Corbin Davis on the DeHart Racing Nitro CBR 1000 with a fast time of 13.744. Rounding out the top 3 was New York native John Koester on his nitro powered Honda CBR 1000 with a time of 13.860. Koester now holds the points lead going into round 4.
Th battle continues under the lights at the White Rose II National in Jefferson, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, September 16.
