AMA Pro Hillclimb set to open 2015 season at all-new venue
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 27, 2015) - The season opener of the AMA Pro Hillclimb Series will get underway Saturday, May 30 with the added excitement of taking place at a new venue in Tennessee.
Middle Tennessee Dragway will host the Round 1 of the season in Buffalo Valley, Tenn. The event is being run in conjunction with the Tennessee HOG (Harley Owners Group) Rally, meaning bikers and local fans are going to witness to what is promises to be the most one of the exciting starts to the series in recent years.
"The Tennessee HOG Rally is extremely proud to partner with the AMA Pro Hillclimb Championship Series and Buffalo Valley Dragway. The Tennessee HOG Rally has a wonderful history of producing great rides, skills events and entertainment for Harley Owners Group members. This year is no exception, with the Pro Hillclimb's first ever visit to Tennessee, thousands of HOG members will be in attendance at this great event," said Gary Bagwell, Tennessee HOG Rally Coordinator.
The hill will be a new challenge for every rider, as none of the current competitors have had the chance to try to tackle it. With no practice or qualifying in hillclimbing, the riders' first run will be the first time they have tested out the bikes, not only on the hill but on any hill in 2015. This could set the tone in the championship battles with one rider coming out on top and putting points between themselves and their rivals.
"It is always exciting to bring new races to the series schedule. Tennessee was a perfect fit with a great facility and a fan base that is new to hillclimbing, and the event will bring a new passion to the sport," said Amanda Campbell, Director of AMA Pro Hillclimb.
